Our Story
The Iraq and Afghanistan Fallen Veterans Memorial is a veteran-owned organization dedicated to memorializing our nation's fallen soldiers. Founded by combat veteran Mark Hoffmann and his wife Linda, our organization is in the process of building a memorial designed to honor those who have given their lives in our nation's longest war. Though we've made a lot of progress, we need the support of compassionate donors to make our memorial as powerful as it should be. If you're looking for a way to give thanks to our fallen soldiers, you've come to the right place.
About the Memorial
The United States of America possesses a long, arduous history. It is a tapestry woven with conflict, sacrifice, and heroism. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are one of the many tests that the country faces. Time and again, the nation calls on brave men and women to protect the Union. Countless soldiers answer this call to service, and some must lay down their lives to preserve the values the citizenry holds dear.
The Iraq and Afghanistan Fallen Veterans Memorial is a local veteran’s memorial in Becker, MN, that takes the form of an apple orchard. It is our way of expressing gratitude to the citizen-soldiers who gave their all for our beloved homeland. A somber wall lines the perimeter of the orchard, lined with handcrafted dog tags representing soldiers who gave their lives during the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The wall and orchard serve as a powerful, impactful reminder of America’s fallen veterans and the sacrifices they made to keep the United States safe. We hope that as you visit this local memorial, you have the opportunity to pause and reflect.
The memorial is supported through donations. Your contributions will ensure that our local memorial services may continue to operate. Proceeds go towards the maintenance and upkeep of the grounds, as well as towards the crafting of dog tags for the fence.
